Hit Film Earns $1.6 Million In First Two Weeks of Midnight Limited Business – Causing Theaters to Continue to Add Showtimes

HOLLYWOOD, CA (October 9, 2009) – Last night, the hit thriller PARANORMAL ACTIVITY reported nationwide sell outs during its midnight showings in cities across the country—earning over $400,000 at only 158 locations. Due to excessive demand from moviegoers, the film will be playing throughout the day beginning today in 44 cities across the country.

Showing remarkable strength, the film earned $175,000 in pre-existing theaters, up from $144,000 from last Thursday’s midnight only business.

The movie Roger Ebert of The Chicago Sun-Times called “an ingenious horror film. It’s so well made it’s truly scary” is currently garnering 94% on RottenTomatoes.com and will begin playing in 159 locations in 44 cities and at all hours beginning tomorrow, Friday, October 9th.
